Motorola Moto G51

Motorola Moto G51 Review – There are two types of people, one who doesn’t like Motorola for its wrong specs choices or other people who love Motorola for its standard Android features. The same thing applies to the Motorola Moto G51 which definitely offers the standard Android experience but at the same time offers medium specs. Even though the phone is expected released in November 2021, the specs seem slightly average.

Unlike the Moto E40, there are some impressive features, including a faster refresh rate, decent camera setup, and ample battery life. However, there is no news about the global release. But the question is whether it’s worth buying the Moto G51. Well, we’ll cover almost everything about the Motorola Moto G51 in this detailed review.

Motorola Moto G51 Review

Highlights

  1. The device comes with an IPS LCD panel which also provides a 120Hz refresh rate and decent pixel density.
  2. In terms of performance, you’re getting the low-cost Snapdragon 480+ 5G chipset.
  3. Software partition handles standard Android 11 OS with no bloatware.
  4. A 50MP main camera setup is featured, while there is also a 13MP selfie camera.
  5. To supply your daily needs, manufacturers featured a massive 5000 mAh battery with only 10W charging support.

Design and Display

The design look is somewhat similar to the Motorola Moto G60 that was launched in the Indian smartphone market. Although the difference can be seen in the camera module, apart from that, everything is identical from head to toe. Hopefully, you’ll have a choice of vibrant colors in blue that gives the Moto G51 a somewhat sophisticated and independent look.

On the other hand, build quality feels classic in one way or another, as it’s a single shade option. However, the sharp corners provide a premium feel, even though the phone appears to be flat. Surprisingly, the camera bump is small, so the phone won’t wobble when you place it on a table or flat surface. Also, the thin-bezel screen is noteworthy.

Since you’re getting a 6.82-inch high-aspect IPS LCD panel, you can expect there to be less color saturation than the AMOLED panel, but still, the colors look vibrant. Furthermore, you will receive an incredible fluid experience with the help of the 120Hz refresh rate. The phone also features decent pixel density with FHD+ resolution. However, the Moto G51 lacks HDR certification and tubular glass protection.

Memory and Internal

The Snapdragon 480+ 5G chipset is a great value chipset if you are looking for an economical 5G connectivity device. You’ll find tons of smartphones running the same chipset with the same slogan as the ultra-economical 5G phone, but things change with the UI setup and UI experience. As most mid-range smartphones slide down, bloatware and adware.

Here, in terms of Motorola Moto G51, the story is a little different. The cost-cutting happened in the camera and screen department, which is quite visible on average. However, you will not receive ad notifications, nor will there be bloatware in the Android ecosystem. Motorola tries to make their firmware as close to pixel phones, but unfortunately, the new update is always late on new phones compared to other brands.

Anyway, it’s not a problem when you’re getting a bloatware-free ecosystem in which you can do tons of customization as often as you like. The Moto G51’s gaming section is slightly better than the regular phone, thanks to the advanced refresh rate input. When it comes to storage, manufacturers provide a suitable mix of 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, which is more than enough for your daily task needs.

Camera

The Moto G51’s camera processing isn’t as good if you compare the phone to the Redmi Note 11. But, the phone never loses the natural touch of the photos, while you can add warmth and change the shutter speed in professional mode. The average daylight shooting experience with the 48 MP primary snapper is excellent, something that exceeded the expected limits.

Low-light photos are hardly capable of rendering decent results. But the quality didn’t stay constant in the other mode. As for portrait mode, edge detection is quite good and on top of that, you also have a 2MP depth snapper. Even though the work is done through the software, the lens gives a somewhat natural feel to the images.

The ultra-wide section is controlled by the standard 8MP lens and AI software to increase the overall image quality. Video recording can go up to 4K, but electrical image stabilization is not supported. On the other hand, the native 13MP camera app is similar to most brands, while you’ll have access to Motorola-specific filters and features.

Battery and Others

Battery life is the biggest concern, even if it’s a basic phone or a high-end phone, the batteries are identical. You get impressive screen time for games, series, and Internet browsing. All of this will be provided by the Moto G51’s robust Li-PO 5000 mAh battery. It will provide 8 hours of screen time in average usage, while you can play low graphics games for more than 3+ hours.

Also, charging the phone would be a tedious task for many, as you will receive a standard 10W charger, which will charge your phone in over two hours. As for sensors, you’re getting everything to operate a 5G device. Also, the sound output seems a little lower than expected. The price rises to $259 (Rs 19,599) approx, which makes the Moto G51 a value-packed deal relevant to the specs.

Conclusion

The Motorola Moto G51 smartphone’s main selling point would be its pure Android interface. Otherwise, the overall experience with this phone wouldn’t let you down. As per the price specs, the ratio is great as you’re getting 5G support, decent camera setup, robust performance, long battery life, and much more in this phone. However, you will find a better alternative in the same price range that offers the same 5G connectivity.

We like to point out the flaws in mid-level photography and slow charging. But if you don’t support the presence of custom UI, the Moto G51 is worth recommending to you. However, if this device is not available in your home market, checking out the Oppo K9s in the same price range would be a great choice.
