The Oukitel WP35 looks quite good and a lot better than Oukitel’s older phones. With the new design and the budget pricing, Oukitel going to impress more people than they did before. But design isn’t everything and there are other factors at play. Let’s begin with a detailed review of the Oukitel WP35 and see if this smartphone is worth purchasing.

Design and Display

Even though the Oukitel WP35 is a rugged smartphone, it features a very attractive design, especially due diamond-like pattern on the rear panel. The body of the phone is built with durable materials and can survive any harsh conditions with ease. It went through multiple rigorous physical tests and passed through all that with flying colors and won the MIL-STD-810H certification.

The smartphone is also protected against dust and water with IP68/69K certifications, so don’t worry in case you accidentally drop it in a fish tank or the pool. As for the display, it has a 6.6-inch IPS display with FHD+ resolution. It can also get as bright as 450 nits of brightness level, which would be helpful when using the phone outdoors. This display is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Memory and Internal

The Oukitel WP35 has the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ 5G chipset. This chipset is capable of reaching clock speeds of up to 2×2.2GHz, which is not much but considering the price point, it’s acceptable. It has enough performance to run all your favorite apps and games decently, including Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, and more.

This performance is not just for apps only and games can also take equal advantage of this chipset. The chipset has the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, which can run games like PUBG mobile, Summoners War, and even CODm with smoother framerates.

The chipset also supports 5G connectivity, so expect gigabit speeds and low latency. When it comes to the software, the Oukitel WP35 is running on Android 14 with a stock user interface, which delivers a far better user experience. As for RAM and storage, the smartphone has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

Camera

The Oukitel WP35 comes with a 64MP dual rear-camera system. The main camera with a 64MP sensor manages to capture some decent shots with a good level of detail and accurate color tone, which is better than other smartphones in the same price range.

Then there’s the 8MP night vision camera, which is equipped with infrared lights that illuminate the scene and assist the camera in taking decent pictures in pitch-black environments. On the front of the Oukitel WP35, there’s a 32MP sensor that can take some good selfies with higher detail levels.

As for video recording, the Oukitel WP35 can shoot at a maximum resolution of 1440p@30FPS from the rear camera and 1080@30FPS from the selfie camera.

Battery and Others

The Oukitel WP35 has a high-capacity 11000 mAh battery. This is a high-capacity battery that can deliver a great battery life that lasts for 4 – 6 days easily. That’s almost a week on a single charge. This is the kind of battery life that rugged phones are known for and the Oukitel WP35 delivers A+ results on that.

It can provide even more battery life depending on your smartphone usage. With lighter usage, it will definitely last longer and you don’t get this kind of battery life in ordinary smartphones. Also, if you play a lot of games, then the battery will not last that long, but that is to be expected considering how resource-heavy they are.

The smartphone supports 18W wired fast charging, which is extremely low considering the huge size of the battery. You will have to charge the smartphone for hours to get a full charge. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone is currently available for purchase at just $167 (Rs 13,990 in India) approx.

Conclusion

The Oukitel WP35 smartphone is a rugged smartphone that is clearly designed for budget users but still manages to add its name to popular mid-range smartphones. It has decent performance, a great display, good cameras, and a fantastic battery and they are the highlights of the smartphone. It even has 5G connectivity, which should deliver greater speeds.

So, considering all that the smartphone offers, the pricing seems decent. Its only downside is the lack of super fast charging but considering the price of the smartphone, it is acceptable. The closest alternative to this smartphone would be the Xiaomi Redmi 12, which provides better specs and is available at a better price tag, but you lose out on the large battery of this Oukitel smartphone. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
