This new smartphone is designed to provide the best experience possible on a budget, so it comes with all the latest technologies, including 5G technology.

The Vivo S19 Pro follows Vivo’s signature design language and looks quite elegant, especially in the new color palette. Vivo wants to make a dent in the mid-range sector with this smartphone and capture some new market share. So, let’s begin with a detailed review of the Vivo S19 Pro smartphone and see if this smartphone is worth purchasing.

Vivo S19 Pro Smartphone Review

Highlights

  1. The Vivo S19 Pro has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz high refresh rate support.
  2. The SoC inside the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ 5G chipset, which is capable of reaching clock speeds of 1×3.35 GHz.
  3. The new smartphone comes with Android 14 with an OriginOS 4 user interface for better customization support.
  4. The Vivo S19 Pro has a 50MP triple rear camera system with a 50MP selfie camera.
  5. The Vivo S19 Pro is powered by a Si/C 5500 mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging and reverse wired charging support.

Design and Display

The Vivo S19 Pro features a very aesthetically pleasing design, thanks to the curved nature of the smartphone. The side and the mid-frame are made of plastic, while the rear panel is made of glass. The use of plastic was to keep the prices down. The sides are rounded to provide a better grip and the phone doesn’t slip away easily. It is available in Gray, Green, and Light Blue color options.

The new phone is also quite thin, especially at 7.6 mm, so it will feel good in the hand. On the front, you will find a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support. The use of a high refresh rate display was to provide a smooth user experience, and Vivo certainly delivered that. The display panel supports up to 1 billion colors, which delivers a stellar viewing experience.

The display can get plenty bright at 4500 nits, which can be a bit extreme and only found in expensive smartphones. The Vivo S19 Pro is protected against dust and water with the IP68/IP69K certification. However, there’s no protection for the display.

Memory and Internal

The Vivo S19 Pro features a flagship-level MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ 5G chipset that is capable of delivering a clock speed of up to 1×3.35 GHz. In terms of raw performance, this chipset is as powerful as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. So, you are getting an extremely fast CPU with this smartphone, which can run any apps or games smoothly without a hitch.

Speaking of games, the Immortalis-G715 MC11 can play any game, including Genshin Impact, PUBG Mobile, Summoners War, Black Desert Mobile, and CODm, at the highest graphical fidelity with high framerates. The chipset also supports 5G connectivity, which will deliver gigabit-level download speeds and significantly lower latency. This is important when playing multiplayer games, and gamers will surely appreciate this.

When it comes to the operating system, the Vivo S19 Pro is running on the latest Android 14 with an OriginOS 4 user interface for better customization support. For RAM and storage, the smartphone can be purchased with up to 8GB to 16 GB of RAM and 256GB to 512 GB of storage.

Camera

The Vivo S19 Pro sports a 50MP triple rear camera system. The main 50MP rear camera captures some great pictures with high detail levels. We weren’t expecting such great camera capabilities considering the price tag, but Vivo managed to surprise us. It is an impressive camera and the pictures have accurate colors and high dynamic range. It won’t beat the Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup of smartphones but gets you pretty close to their performance.

The second camera has a 50MP telephoto sensor and it can capture pictures with 2x optical zoom. The pictures look amazing with great detail levels. However, the same can’t be said for the third camera, which has an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. This sensor is not bad but in no way comparable to the performance of the other two cameras. The pictures from this sensor don’t have a lot of details in them and appear softer. There’s also a color shift compared to the main sensor.

For the selfie camera, it has a 50MP sensor, which is capable of taking some great selfies with a natural color tone and high detail levels. As for video recording, the Vivo S19 Pro can shoot at a maximum of 4K@30FPS from both the rear and selfie cameras. Also, the rear camera system has both OIS and gyro-EIS for video stabilization.

Battery and Others

The Vivo S19 Pro has a Si/C 5500 mAh battery, which is denser than traditional batteries and allows this smartphone to provide 1 – 2 days of backup easily. This is with light to moderate usage that includes some social media, camera, texting, watching movies, and so on. But if you play a lot of games, then the battery will drain faster and may not even last a full day.

The Vivo S19 Pro also supports the 80W wired fast charger, which can fully charge the smartphone in under 50 minutes. The smartphone also supports reverse-wired charging technology. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, an under-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, GPS, and stereo speakers. The Vivo S19 Pro starts at $455 (Rs 37,999 in India) approx.

Conclusion

The Vivo S19 Pro is a fantastic flagship smartphone that has a lot going for it. The design looks extremely premium and feels great in hand. The display features accurate colors and can get as bright as flagship smartphones that cost way more. The chipset is also equally impressive and delivers a superb gaming performance.

The same goes for the camera and battery performance. They will beat most smartphones in the same price range. The pricing is the most shocking part. Vivo managed to keep the price this low, especially considering all that it offers. If are in the market for a great smartphone on a budget, you cannot get a better deal than this smartphone.

There is no other smartphone that can come close to delivering everything it does while still keeping the pricing lower. The closest smartphone to this would be the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, but it will still lag behind the Vivo S19 Pro in many areas.  However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
